The Project Assistant position is a temporary position in the joint Research Project ‘AI4HR’ among the GC Research Department and the Global Campus Europe based in Venice and the Global Campus Africa based in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will work remotely and be responsible for performing various tasks in relation to the project.
Key responsibilities are:
- Support the project leads in developing a methodology and design of qualitative research surveys, including ethical considerations.
- Coordinate with the project leads and the technical expert for data collection and analysis.
- Support in the organisation of online consultations in High Schools.
- For the research activity, (1) facilitate surveys; (2) help develop a report on research findings.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating project outcomes and developing narrative reports.
- Provide general administrative support, such as following up on online meetings through correspondence, ensuring timely completion and reporting; support the preparation of contracts if needed; maintain regular communication with the project leads and stakeholders.
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
– MA in social sciences, in particular (but not limited to) sociology, anthropology, educational or law studies.
– Proven ability to conduct qualitative research and analysis in the area of human rights.
– Strong interest in the fields of human rights and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
– Proven expertise on AI.
– Excellent communication skills in English.
– Reliability, high motivation, flexibility.
– Excellent organisational, reporting and communication skills, as well as a proactive attitude towards solving problems.
– Knowledge about children’s rights will be an added advantage.
Terms & Conditions:
The position will have a duration of 8 months starting from November 2025. The remuneration equals € 2,500 gross in total, subject to taxation. The working language is English. The selected candidate will be offered either a coordinated and continued collaboration contract or a consultancy contract depending on fiscal regime applicable. S/he will be contracted directly by the GC in Venice.
Project background:
The project is a five-year research project (2024-2029) supported by the Global Campus of Human Rights and Right Livelihood partnership. The project is led by the GC Research Department and two GC Campuses — Global Campus Europe (Venice) and Global Campus Africa (University of Pretoria, Centre for Human Rights), with the participation of key partners from Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland; Raoul Wallenberg Institute/Lund University, Sweden; University College Dublin, Ireland; Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland; Center for European Studies in Yerevan State University; and Kathmandu Law School, Nepal.
The project aims to create an AI for Human Rights Toolkit. The Toolkit will be designed with, and for, young people. The Toolkit will have three layers each focused on GenerationAI: (1) The Workplace; (2) The Higher Ed Classroom; (3) The High School Setting.
