Launch of the Shaista Ikramullah Human Rights Education Centre Marks a New Milestone for Human Rights Education in Pakistan

The Global Campus of Human Rights salutes the inauguration of the Shaista Ikramullah Human Rights Education Centre (SIHREC) held on 9 February 2026 in Lahore. Established to advance human rights higher education in Pakistan, the Centre is part of the Huqooq-e-Pakistan II project, implemented by UNDP Pakistan and funded by the European Union.

Second and Third Mobility Rounds Enable Pakistani Students to Study Human Rights Abroad

As part of the Huqooq-e-Pakistan II project, the Global Campus of Human Rights continues to organise international mobility opportunities for Pakistani students pursuing human rights studies. Implemented in partnership with UNDP Pakistan and funded by the European Union, the initiative is open to students from the University of Baluchistan, Habib University in Karachi, the University of Peshawar and Lahore University of Management Sciences.

Five-Week On-line Seminar Cycle Explored Key Human Rights Challenges in Belize

In October and November, the Global Campus and the University of Belize ran a series of online seminars, engaging 52 participants from academia and civil society. The programme concluded with an in-person networking event, where participants received certificates and the University President was recognised with an appreciation certificate for the institution’s support of human rights education.

GC and Italian MOfA renew their commitment to train Asia-Pacific human rights defenders in Timor-Leste

The Global Campus of Human Rights (GC), the Human Rights Centre of the National University of Timor-Leste (HRC-UNTL), and the Diplomacy Training Program (DTP) hosted by the University of New South Wales (Sydney) are pleased to continue their collaboration in advancing human rights education and capacity building. With renewed support from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI-DGMO), the three partners will join forces once again in 2026 to organize the Human Rights and People’s Diplomacy Training Program for Human Rights Defenders from the Asia-Pacific Region.

Launch of the Academic Task Force to Develop Human Rights Education across Universities in Pakistan

Students from Pakistan join the first international mobility under the GC-UNDP human rights education project

Working in partnership with UNDP Pakistan and financed by the European Union, the Global Campus of Human Rights has recently inaugurated an international mobility scheme for Pakistani students interested in pursuing human rights education. The initiative is a core component of the Huqooq-e-Pakistan II programme and is offered to students from the Lahore University of Management Science – LUMS, Habib University, the University of Peshawar, and the University of Balochistan.
