Building Change Through Regional Solidarity: How ERMA Shaped an Alumna’s Human Rights Activism
Iris Knežević joined the European Regional Master’s Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe (ERMA) carrying many questions about her future. Studying in Sarajevo became a turning point that reshaped her understanding of human rights and ultimately led her to co-develop the toolkit ‘Invisible Children: The Legal Status of Children Born of Wartime Sexual Violence in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia – Comparative Legal Analysis and Practical Recommendations’. Inspired by the experiences of activists and survivors from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the project seeks to strengthen regional dialogue and advance the rights of children born of wartime sexual violence in Croatia.
